AMC Eagle Nest Member offers this fix to temporarily repair broken headlight adjuster nuts.

If your head light clips break all you have to do is flip around the plastic clip and screw it in. Will hold for years, I did this on my 84 4 years ago when I could not find any replacements in town. I think that might classify as rambler mentality!
