1.- Wipe all oil from the axle housing. Clean each ring gear tooth carefully. 2.- Apply a light coat of gear marking compund to the drive side of the ring teeth Figure 27

3.- Rotate the ring gear slowly in both directions. Compare the contact pattern pressed into the marking compund with those shown in Figure 28.

If the pattern is not correct, have the differential disassembled and adjusted.
